Pastor’s Prayer Request

I know that having a Pastor that serves multiple congregations comes with its own set of challenges, but having more people to pray WITH and FOR is certainly not one of them. What a gift it is to lift up one another for the sake of life-giving community! At Echoes, the church I serve in Bellingham, we may be experimental, but we are grounded in prayer. Echoes is a 13 year old mission development of the Lutheran Church, and we have been praying for you in the San Juans since I began last August. I now hope you can pray for Echoes. We are currently submitting our grant funding from the ELCA churchwide Mission Development & New Starts Office for the next three years. The paperwork goes before a Review Table in Chicago at the end of the month and is the follow up to our Ministry Review we had this past fall. While the funding is helpful and important, it is still not enough to cover my 1/3 salary to synod guidelines and the funding for this year was lowered slightly, requiring more focus on fundraising and giving, while already being spread thin. As of now Echoes has a few months of funding left, but not enough to finish the year. We would welcome your prayers as we work diligently to raise funds and also strive to build & foster community during these anxious times. You can learn more about Echoes on our Website: https://echoesbellingham.org/ and
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/echoesbellingham

Thank you so much for your support and prayers as we do this work of sharing God’s love together! I am grateful for the prayers for our transitions work across the islands as I know it requires many extra meetings and requests.

We’re in this together. Blessings,
Pastor Emma

This is generosity rooted in God’s abundant love for God’s creation. Generosity of time, space, talents, money – and generosity of our hearts. (Posted April 3, 2026)

We will meet at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood AND the new Lynnwood Neighborhood Center. We will center our time in worship at 9am with song, communion, preaching by Bishop Shelley. We will welcome our keynote presenter, Rev. Tim Brown, ELCA director for congregational stewardship. Following lunch, there will be 2 afternoon workshop times – with a total of 22 options from local leaders! As we prepare to close the day, we will re-gather for a sending service – including time to install our newly elected synod council officers and members. Click here to learn more and get registered! We acknowledge the Central Coast Salish people, who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and live, and recognize their continuing connection to the land, water, and air that we consume. We pay respect to the tribes of the San Juan Islands (Sooke, Saanich, Songhees, Lummi, Samish, Semiahmoo), all Nations, and their elders past, present, and emerging.
